What needed solving.
Bashir wanted a marketplace where the price isn't fixed. Some things sell at auction, some go to whoever makes the best offer, and the buyer and the seller need to talk before either of them commits. A storefront template doesn't know how to do any of that, and it certainly doesn't know how to do it in Arabic, from right to left, in riyals. Behind every listing there was more: two sides to each transaction, payments that had to run through the rails Saudi buyers actually use, and notifications that read naturally in whichever language the person had chosen.
The system underneath.
We built the marketplace as a business system on the web and on iOS, in English and Arabic with proper right to left layout, priced in riyals.
- Auctions with a minimum bid, so the seller sets the floor and the market does the rest
- Offers on listings, which expire after seven days so nothing stays open forever
- Live chat between buyer and seller inside the app, attached to the listing they are discussing
- Ratings on both sides, so a reputation carries from one deal to the next
- Payments through Mada and STC Pay
- Notifications in both languages, and a web app that installs to the phone like a native one

How it runs today.
Kunuuz has been on the App Store for a while now, and the marketplace runs the way it was drawn on the whiteboard. A seller lists something, sets a floor or opens it to offers, and takes the conversation inside the app instead of on WhatsApp. Buyers pay with the card or the wallet already on their phone. Bashir spends his time thinking about sellers and categories rather than wondering whether the checkout will hold.
HiTitans approached the work like a business system, not just a storefront. They understood Arabic UX, payment flow, and the operational side behind the launch.
