NouraiiBoutique store and point of sale

A Gemmayzeh boutique that outgrew its Instagram DMs, with the till on the same backend as the store.

01The situation

Nouraii started the way a lot of Beirut boutiques start. Photos on Instagram, orders in the DMs, sizes confirmed by voice note, a delivery guy on a motorbike. It works until it doesn't. Somebody buys the last medium in the shop while the same medium is being promised in a DM, and now you are apologising to two people. The boutique needed a real store, but one that behaved like Beirut. Customers pay cash or Whish. Delivery costs depend on the area. Nobody has a postcode, so an address is next to the pharmacy after the church. And the shop floor and the website had to agree on stock, always.

02What we built

We built the store and the till as one system, so a sale in the boutique and a sale online land in the same stock count and the same customer record.

  • 01A custom React storefront on its own API, built around the boutique instead of adapted from a template
  • 02Size and colour variants with live stock, so the site can't sell a piece the shop already sold
  • 03Checkout with cash on delivery or Whish, delivery fees by area, pickup in store, and addresses written as landmarks because that's how Beirut delivers
  • 04Order tracking by order number and phone, with no account needed
  • 05Customer accounts that show online and in store purchases together, with store credit, because the till shares the backend
  • 06Pages the boutique edits itself: new drops, the lookbook, the about page, without calling us

03What it's like now

The DMs are still busy, but now they are questions rather than orders. A customer picks her size, sees whether it is in stock, pays the way she pays for everything else, and gets the piece delivered to a landmark she would describe to a friend. Behind the counter, a sale in the shop and a sale on the site land in the same ledger, and store credit works the same in both. The team updates the site on their own.
